When Does A Property Need Rewiring?

There isn't a fixed age at which every electrical installation requires rewiring. The need for a full or partial rewire depends on the age, type and condition of the existing wiring, previous alterations and whether the installation remains suitable for the property's current and future electrical requirements. Older properties, homes undergoing major renovation and installations showing signs of deterioration may benefit from further inspection to determine whether a full or partial rewire is required.

Our Rewiring Process

Before work starts, the proposed layout and electrical requirements are agreed so socket, switch and lighting positions can be planned around how the property will be used. First-fix wiring is then installed, using dust-controlled chasing with extraction wherever practicable. Following plastering and other building works, second-fix accessories and equipment are installed before the completed installation is inspected, tested and certified.
